Big Blue Hotel Blackpool England Review

The Big Blue Hotel, Blackpool, is a 4-star hotel located in this popular seaside resort town in Lancashire, in the north of England. The hotel is a comparatively recent addition to the legendary Pleasure Beach complex and visitor attraction. The following is our introductory review of the hotel.

Situated on the seafront, not far from the South Pier, the Pleasure Beach is primarily an amusement park, and the most popular such attraction in the United Kingdom. In 2003 the management of the Pleasure Beach opened the Big Blue Hotel, with the aim of providing visitors to Blackpool with high quality but affordable accommodation. The location of the hotel near the seafront is such that it is highly convenient for visiting any of the major attractions in the town; these attractions include the Winter Gardens and the famous Blackpool Tower, not to mention the Pleasure Beach itself.

The Big Blue Hotel, Blackpool, is a purpose-built modern building that offers a very high standard of facilities in all its 157 rooms. Every room is en-suite, and flat screen TVs, DVD players, telephones, A/C, facilities for ironing, drying hair, and making coffee or tea are all standard throughout, as is internet access via free Wi-Fi. The hotel has a number of different types of rooms available, all with the standard features previously mentioned. The rooms are classified as ‘Superior’, ‘Superior Family’, ‘Deluxe’, ‘Deluxe Family’ and ‘Suite’. Family rooms are larger than standard rooms and contain additional beds to accommodate young children. ‘Deluxe’ rooms are somewhat larger than ‘Superior’ rooms, while ‘Suites’ are larger still, being divided into a bedroom and lounge, as well as featuring somewhat more luxurious decor and internal fixtures.

Also available to all hotel guests is the award-winning Blues Bar and Brasserie, which offers a range of light refreshments, alcoholic drinks and full meals, all in a pleasantly comfortable, relaxed setting. A continental or English style cooked breakfast is included as part of the deal at the Big Blue Hotel.

Blackpool is of course very much synonymous with tourism and leisure, but it is a town that has become increasingly popular for conferences and business meetings. The management of the Pleasure Beach and Big Blue Hotel have taken this factor into account by providing dedicated, well-equipped conference facilities at the Big Blue Hotel and elsewhere in the Pleasure Beach complex. The Business Center at the hotel alone can accommodate up to 60 people. It consists of a main venue for events and presentations, augmented by five separate meeting rooms. There are additional conference facilities nearby at the Pleasure Beach with capacity for a total of up to 1800 delegates.

Whether you are planning a quiet weekend away, a longer family holiday, a business meeting, or a full-scale conference for your organization or firm, the Big Blue Hotel, Blackpool, offers fantastic facilities. It may not be quite as cheap as some of the more run-of-the-mill small hotels in Blackpool, but prices are very reasonable considering what a luxurious modern hotel this is, so why not make a reservation today.
